Top 6 Holiday Gifts of Movement for Wellness

Whether it’s Chi Gong or Yoga, dance or taking a walk, movement is important to and for our bodies. It keeps the energy flow within our bodies moving, it helps us process energy coming at us each day, and as a result, it helps with our mental, emotional and physical well-being.

A gift of movement can take many forms but some of my favorites are:

• a subscription to Yoga Download, which offers a wide variety of yoga classes and forms, available monthly with free cancellation any time,
• a yoga mat such as this one, with a serene or uplifting scene that they love,  or a cushion or pillow with a similar nature scene such as this ​funny one from my Bird lovers collection,
• a book to local hikes – complete with ratings of difficulty levels,
• a membership to a local Botanical Garden that offers ample walking space amid nature – the plants, the beauty, and the birds at these Gardens change throughout the year, always providing for a variety of nature’s “entertainment”,
• a regular gift of your time - if you are nearby and practice at a safe physical distance, or have access to Facetime, Zoom, Google Hangouts or other video conferencing, you can do the movements together to encourage one another.
