Nature & Energy Insights
“We are not victims of our genes, but masters of our fates, able to create lives overflowing with peace, happiness, and love.” - Dr. Bruce Lipton With one of my clients, we have discovered the family cat using the behavior of pooping outside the litter box whenever it wants to get a message to the human family. In working with the cat, I release the causal or contributing imbalances, and the family has gotten fast at recognizing what has changed in the home to contribute to the behavior. In being mindful and observant of the cat as a family member, they lovingly find workarounds or other solutions to address the situation. In some cases, we have also worked with the young child in the home who had been rough with the cat, in order to improve the behavior between the two. This has had great results for the entire family.

wellness practices and more. And I created this blog for wellness gift-giving options. And you can always check out my webpage on Self-Empowered Healing here. Herein, my 10 favorite gifts of wellness: Wellness gift #1: Essential oil diffuser and essential oils Each essential oil has its own vibration and as such, the oil helps many aspects of our lives. My clients and I use essential oils for calm, for resting better at night, for alertness, for balancing their Chakras, and even for purposes such as infants’ teething pain and to build their self-confidence. You can give the gift of an essential oil diffuser for the home, or simply buy an essential oil or an essential oil blend to help loved ones reap its many benefits. You can read more in my Top 6 "Must Have" Essential oils blog here. Wellness gift #2: Salt baths Salt baths can detoxify the body, and especially when used with some essential oils, helps to relax your mind. It’s important for us to have the space and time to unwind, to get quiet as I talk about in meditation, below. And taking a salt bath helps us to do all of this. You can find many “bath bombs” online – many of them come complete with essential oils with the salts. I definitely use it as part of my ‘wellness’ routine in a week full of client work. I can be my optimum self when I pay attention to wellness. And, to get us to a place of calm with thoughts of nature, I have many nature-themed bathroom décor – towels, shower curtains, bath mats and more - within my collections on Zazzle and RedBubble. Wellness gift #3: Movement Whether it’s Chi Gong or Yoga, walking/hiking, or even dance(!), movement is important to our bodies. It keeps the energy flow within our bodies moving, it helps us process energy coming at us each day, and as a result, it helps with our mental, emotional and physical well-being. A gift of movement can take many forms but some of my favorites are on my Movement gifts blog. Wellness gift #4: Meditation Here again, just as we our unique, so are the ways we each enjoy meditating. And it’s all good. As you or your loved one begins a regular meditation practice, you and they may explore other ways to meditate. The important part is to start on the journey of meditation and watch what unfolds. Some of us appreciate complete stillness and quiet, others prefer some form of guided meditation, and yet others enjoy soothing sounds. A gift of meditation can come in many forms including mats and pillows for the practice, candles, beautiful crystals for their practice and/or their environment, a book of mantras, meditation music, and even guided meditation subscriptions and apps. I cover some of those in my Meditation blog. You can also read about one of the many ways meditation helps me - in my blog here. Wellness gift #5: Mindfulness practices This can be a broad topic so I’ll distill it to some of my favorites:
Wellness gift 6: Sound Enabling wellness from sound is another fascinating topic. You can often listen to these on YouTube, Spotify and/or Apple Music and other streaming services, or simply download the digital versions or even CD versions if you prefer listening on a physical device. See my Pinterest folder here for more. Some of my favorite gifts of sound healing are:
These days, healthy cooking and eating doesn’t have to mean blasé’ and bland eating. Have you seen the number of healthy but delicious recipes online nowadays? The great thing about The Body Code is that I can test to see if there is a particular nutrient my clients need, and/or if there is something they are having an allergic reaction to. I also keep some go-to books at home for quick reference with my clients:
Wellness gift #8: Laughter! There can be many stressors in our lives. I don’t need to write about that here. We can use laughter as a way to lighten the load, change the energy of our minds, our hearts, and our homes with more laughter in them! While businesses in 2020 aren’t fully operating right now, movies and comedy clubs may be unavailable but the gift of Netflix, Amazon Prime with comedy categories, or even a specific movie purchase on Vudu and any number of other streaming services can help lift the mood and lighten the day. Some of my Laugh Out Loud favorites that may help inspire you to come up with your own to recommend include:
Oh my – there’s a lot that I can write about media and the potential negative impact it’s been having on all of us around the world. But I’m not going to give it “air time”. Instead, I’m going to focus on the *many* positive forms of media that you can gift to others in your life. Herein, my favorites:Wellness gift #10: A Body Code/Emotion Code gift certificate Of course, my list wouldn’t be complete without including the gift of energy work. To me, the gift of well-being is the ultimate gift of love. These sessions help adults, children and pets, and they address emotional, mental and physical imbalances within our bodies. Since my vendor doesn’t customize the certificates for each holiday, I’m happy to provide one from my photography collection to include with your gift: seals, whales, birds, flowers, landscapes, and more. The vouchers are available in $85 and $100 increments here. Whatever you do, and however you celebrate the holidays, from my home to yours, I’m wishing you and your loved ones the very best in mental, emotional and physical wellness!
weight from the news media, the stock market, work, and other external influences that barrage us with negative information or overall negativity. This is true right now especially. The feelings can feel heavy, irritating and even exhausting. Now, with kids home-schooling, and/or everyone from work, school, or elsewhere discussing negative information, you’re getting an influx of negative energy that can be difficult to avoid. That’s true whether those emotions come and go, like the evening news, or remain consistently due to a continuum of negative media, work realities or other influences. Multiply that by the number of people with whom you share a household and that’s a lot of “dirty bath water”. In my energy practice, I had one mother grappling with her parents visiting from outside the U.S. and constantly worrying if they’d be able to fly back home, her husband feeling negativity about the news, her young son having pent-up energy unable to play at school with friends, and a newborn baby at home to care for. She sought my help to alleviate her anxiety and to help her newborn infant as well. It turns out that she was indeed taking on a great deal from her environment, and not only that, but her infant had been absorbing an excess of stress hormones from both parents, which I worked to clear straight away! You yourself may have even made a commitment to avoid negativity as much as possible. But you’re still feeling irritable, sad, or helpless and don’t know why. It’s possibly that “dirty bath water” of negativity in your environment. Don’t Despair! You can “clean" that bath water It may sound ominous but there is good news! Even if others in your home are listening to negative media or engaging in social commentary about the same, or tend towards more negativity in general, you can “cleanse” that home environment. You do this by raising the vibration to more positive energy in the home with a few tools available to everyone. Some of these tools are listed on my website here, and I include some examples below. 1. Sound – We are all energy, and of course sound is no exception. There are many higher vibration sounds that we can listen to that literally shift that energy to a more positive vibration in our homes. Great examples of positive sounds, easily found on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and elsewhere, include:
3. Incense and sage – Burning incense and sage isn’t for those sensitive to them of course, but there are pleasant aromas available that are lighter than more “traditional” incense. Sage itself has a powerful vibration to it, and in this author’s opinion is quite earthy and enjoyable. I often go out to my garden and enjoy clipping the sage flowers as they emit that potent aroma. Of course, just like with candles, always keep an eye on anything that you burn in your home. Open a window, and enjoy the fragrance and uplifting feeling that you get from the shift when these are burned. And for you personally, there are a few other example practices, below. You can always share these rituals with others in your home, and bring goodness to all of the members of your household! 1. Gratitude – You might consider writing down ~3-5 things daily for which you’re grateful. This shifts your energy to a higher, more positive vibration. It helps put life in context and gives you richer meaning in your life despite many things that may otherwise trouble you. 2. Earthing or Grounding – Yes, this is your excuse to step out into the yard barefoot! Synchronizing our bodies with the earth’s core energy grounds us, and helps our bodies. For more on the benefits of synchronizing our body’s electrons with those of the earth, just go online or read a recent research paper on the topic here. What is the Mirror saying? In the meantime, you can practice mindfulness and pay attention to any lessons you may be getting from the negativity. Our interactions with others and the emotions it stirs in us can also be a mirror for what is going on in our own lives that we need to investigate at a deeper level. Negative Emotions are ok – as long as they don’t linger Of course, we all experience negative emotions – that is all a part of being human. This isn’t about avoiding our emotions. The key is to be able to handle them, process them through in due course, and then move along with life. You can be angry, frustrated, sad, and other negative emotions. But your intuition will guide you as to whether those negative feelings have remained too long and are starting to impact your relationships and your ongoing outlook on life. Tune into your intuition and notice your state of being … More Resources
I hope these tips help you to keep your home “clean and clear” – full of positive energy, a state of well-being for all in your home, and hopefulness for the future. Of course, if you use these tools and find that you still need assistance, my energy practice is always here. Just like the lady in the story above, sometimes we just get overwhelmed and need some extra assistance along the way. Meanwhile, here’s to the “cleanliness” of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions to get us through what remains of 2020 and beyond!! |
